FAQ's
Are you insured?
Yes—fully insured for residential and light commercial work. Certificates are available on request.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Share basic details (address, photos, rough measurements) and we’ll schedule a brief visit. You’ll receive a written estimate outlining scope, prep, products, and timeline.
How soon can you start?
Start dates depend on scope and current bookings. Small projects may begin within 1–2 weeks; larger or exterior work is scheduled around weather. We confirm a start date once you approve the estimate.
How do you protect floors, furniture, and fixtures?
We plan protection before work begins: ram board, drop cloths, plastic, and painter’s tape suited to each surface. Daily cleanup is included, and walkways are kept safe and clear.
What paint or coating brands do you use?
We specify professional-grade products matched to each surface and environment (interior/exterior, humidity, UV, high-wear). If you have a preferred line or color system, we can match it.
What does interior prep include?
Typical prep includes sanding, patching, caulking, and spot-priming where needed. We mask adjacent areas and cut clean lines for a consistent finish.
How many coats do you apply?
Usually two uniform finish coats after any required primer. Stain-blocking or drastic color changes may add steps, noted in your estimate.
Do I need primer after drywall repairs?
Yes. Primer seals repairs and evens porosity so finish coats lay down uniformly and don’t flash or look patchy.
Can I paint over a fresh patch?
Yes—once it’s fully dry, sanded smooth, and primed. For aged or uneven walls, painting the entire surface yields the most consistent result.
Can you match existing texture?
Yes. We handle tape, bed & texture repairs (orange peel, knockdown, or smooth) and blend transitions so the repair disappears under paint.
Do you paint exteriors year-round?
We schedule around temperature, humidity, and rain to ensure proper curing. Surfaces are washed, scraped, sanded, caulked, and spot-primed before finish coats.
Which sheen should I choose?
Flat/matte hides wall imperfections; eggshell or satin balances cleanability and glare. Semi-gloss or gloss is best for trim and doors. We’ll recommend sheens per room and surface.
Do you stain decks and fences?
Yes. We clean/brighten, allow proper dry time, sand raised grain, and apply penetrating stains designed for UV, mildew, and water resistance. Weather windows are scheduled for curing.
What is resurfacing and how long does it last?
Resurfacing bonds a new coating to existing counters, tile, showers, or surrounds—no demolition. With proper care and cleaners, finishes provide years of service and are refreshable later.
Can you refinish kitchen and bath surfaces without removing them?
Yes. We degrease, repair chips and seams, prime as needed, and apply a bonded topcoat. Work areas are masked and ventilated; most projects have a quick turnaround.
Is resurfacing heat- or water-resistant?
We use systems specified for kitchens, baths, and wet areas. Use trivets for hot pans and mild cleaners to maximize durability.
What qualifies as a “small remodel”?
Selective updates that don’t require full general contracting: opening/closing niches, layout tweaks, finish upgrades, and coordinated paint/trim. We protect work zones and keep the rest of your home usable.
Do you install or repair trim and moldings?
Yes—crown, baseboard, door frames, and casing. Joints are coped or mitered, fastened, filled, caulked, then primed and finished for a continuous line.
How long will my project take?
A typical room takes 1–3 days depending on prep and dry times. Larger projects are staged. Exterior timelines depend on weather.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Accepted methods are listed on your estimate. A deposit may be required to secure materials and a start date; the balance is due at final walkthrough.
Do you provide a warranty?
Yes. We stand behind our workmanship; materials are covered per manufacturer guidelines. If something isn’t right, we’ll make it right—details are included with your estimate.
